Mr. Challenge Films is a team of video artists directed by Miguel Angel Cano Santizo. Since 2010 he has produced documentary movies in Tibet, Peru, Spain, Indonesia, Greece, Dominican Republic, Mongolia and Nepal. He is currently based in Berlin, working on audiovisual projects across the globe. Three of his movies have been awarded and he has worked with Visa, Mercedes, H&M, Honda, Deutsche Welle, The Huffington Post, The Diplomat, 90 seconds, etc.
In the summer of 2010 Miguel spent three months in Piura (Peru) working in a local NGO where he wrote, directed and co produced his two first social documentaries. In 2011 he worked in an organization in Split (Croatia) as workshop's trainer and was involved in a documentary project about the role of mothers during the War of Yugoslavia. Meanwhile, he worked with a Spanish pop-rock band, La Nave del Coco, and on December 2011 it was screened the show-movie “El Vagamundo, The Movie”. Forty-eight videos played on a big screen behind the band while they performed the songs from their new album.
In 2012 he moved to Toronto (Canada) where he worked on some documentary projects and produced music videos, including “Soneto V”, winner of an international video contest. Later on he spent ten months in Indonesia, where he filmed and produced two documentary films, including “Hapan Project: Carlos, the Messenger of Hope”.
He continued his journey in Asia as photographer and Artistic Director of Peace Revolution Organization, and creator, in 2013 of the “I Meditation Artistic Retreat”, project he directed and conducted in Thailand. Afterwards he spent a month traveling and shooting through remote areas of the 'Chinese Tibet'. From this journey came Still Tibet, which was awarded and screened in International Film Festivals.
In 2015/16 he worked as Filmmaker & Photographer of ‘Wiggle High5’, one of the top women's pro cycling teams. He followed them around the world while filming and producing over a hundred films within 20 hours. In 2017 Miguel stablished himself in Berlin, where he works as Filmmaker & Photographer with first-line brands while he develops his own documentary projects.
CURRENT PROJECTS
He is now presenting his last two documentaries: Hebron, Narrative Warfare bringing together testimonies and feasible solutions from Palestinians and Israelis about the current situation in the core of the conflict. And Greek Rock Revolution, displaying the flourishing Rock Scene in Greece and the social context behind inspiring the movement after 10 years of economic crisis.
He also just finished his first fiction feature script and it’s seeking for Production.
Mr. Challenge works as Freelance Videographer for Deutsche Welle, Germany's public international broadcaster. So far he has worked mostly on the Sport Section, filming as part of documentary series.
